Think About It.

I am a 63 year old single woman. Statistics tell me that the odds of finding a mate at my age are zero to none. Determined to beat the odds, I set out on a quest to meet Mr. Right, Mr. Almost Right, Mr. Maybe---okay,okay just so he was breathing .. My game plan , I decided , would be to swallow my pride and try an online dating service. Well, after reading the profiles of potential matches it became clear to me that there was evidently a course that everyone took that I was unaware of, because most of the profiles were cookie-cutter responses.

These are phrases that I read over and over, and that left me somewhat puzzled.

What do you think?

“I need my space"—I don’t know other members , but one of the reasons I joined the site was that I have too much space, I wanted to find someone to take up some space. If I wanted space, I would quietly retreat to my basement.

“Let’s be friends first." Yep, I already have lots of friends, could we try to go for lovers, companions, arch enemies, but friends I already got!!

My friends tell me, I’m good looking, intelligent, trim and look much younger than my age." Keep in mind—we call these people friends for a reason. Are they going to tell us we’re in complete denial?

“I work out every hour of every day". Does anyone ever admit to being a dedicated couch potato? Personally, I suck in my tummy when trying to impress. So What, if I start to turn a little blue.

“I’m sexy" Who does one go to, to get this certification? I want this certificate to display on my mantle, and to impress visitors with..

“I’m financially secure." If you’re in your 50’s or 60’s you’d better be financially secure.

The beaches of the world must be pretty darn overcrowded, because everyone has gone or are on their way there on their dates. I’m still looking for my road map.

I believe that the motorcycle companies of the world have paid these people to advertise their bikes, because every picture includes one. By the way, I left my Harley out of my pics, for fear people wouldn’t be able to tell us apart—I wasn’t taking any unnecessary chances .

After two months of looking for Mr. Right online, I considered buying a motorcycle franchise, after all, it would be a good place to meet potential partners.

I happened to watch a TV show one evening where couples were competing in a dance contest. An idea hit me like a bolt of lightning, no –it wasn’t indigestion. I have decided to take up Salsa . I’m sure this is the answer. Who knows, you may even see me on TV. I’ll be the one wearing sensible shoes.
